Praise God for the people whose lives are being positively impacted by this ministry. It is such a blessing when you see fruit from the labor of your hands especially when they represent His hands!
Pray for God to provide a steady stream of resources in the midst of this current financial drought in our country. Also pray for Devine wisdom with the finances they do have.
Pray for God to send volunteers to work with Vapor who will shoulder the workload effectively, serve cheerfully, and contribute to a harmonious working environment that glorifies God.
Pray for the new Togoville Center as Christian and his wife are discipling the leaders that the revelation of Jesus would permeate every area in these young men’s lives. Pray for God to provide for the land purchase there for the new Center. Pray for the blood of Jesus to cover the people of Togoville that they would be set free from voodoo practices and false religion to serve the living God. (Hebrews 10)
Pray for Brett and Trishia Ralston as they finish their training to start the Ngong, Kenya Vapor Center. Pray for a strong partnership with the African Inland Church and its pastor, wisdom on who to select for discipleship/leadership, discernment to detect those who have other agendas than ministry. Pray also for God’s plan for designating the appropriate place at African Inland Church to build the sports ministry in Ngong and revelation on the exact place he has for the Ralston’s to live while there.

April Prayer Guide
Vapor April 2009 Praise and Prayer Report
“…as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
II Corinthians 1:11
Praise God for His faithfulness in Christian’s family arriving safely in Togoville, Togo. They are hard at work putting things in place for the new Togo Vapor Center there. Please continue to pray for them regularly. They need to come up with a land resolution to begin construction on the next Vapor Center there.
Praise God for the individuals and organizations that continue to partner with Vapor in spite of the economic news. They have remained faithful to lay up treasures in heaven.
Please pray for the McElveens.
- Saturday, April 4th through Tuesday, April 14th they and 2 of Vapor’s directors will be traveling to 4 countries: Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia and Kenya. Please pray for their health, safety, unity and the leading of the Holy Spirit as they visit Ghana and Ethiopia to meet with potential partners and view sites for possible new Vapor Centers.
On Easter, they will be preaching on the beach of the Jamestown Slum in Ghana. Pray for the hearts to open to our Savior. I am sending a picture of the beach in a separate email. It is not what you would think of as a beach.
Pray God would pour out encouragement through them as they visit Christian and his family in Togoville. Ask the Father to download His vision to them as they plan for the future of the Togo Vapor Center.
Pray God’s plan would unfold as they finalize the partnership with the church leadership in Ngong, Kenya. They will need clarity and the mind of Christ on whether to partner with PCEA church or AIC church. Both churches are strategically placed on the edge of the slum targeted. The McElveens and directors will also briefly meet with the staff at the Kawangware, Kenya Vapor Center.
They will need God’s supernatural strength to do all this in 10 days!
- April 17th – 19th The McElveens will be guest speakers and volunteering at Outback: a family restoration camp.
- Continue to pray for God’s grace on Audrey as she juggles a biology class and the needs of the ministry.
Please pray for Danielle Gardner and family: She has had a slow, painful road to recovery and is still on that journey.
Please pray for the upcoming Ngong Vapor Center
Pray for Brett and Trishia to receive the financial support and prayer network needed to sustain them in this endeavor. Pray for God to make apparent those He has called alongside to help as they move forward.
Pray for Vapor Sponsored Edward Kimosop from Kenya as he runs the Boston Marathon April 20th. That might sound like an odd thing to pray about until you hear why!
Edward will be working alongside the Ralston’s in building the Vapor Running Center in Ngong. It is a city where some of the finest runners in the world are trained. The winner of the 2007 Boston Marathon was a Kenyan! If Edward is one of the finalists, it could thrust Edward and Vapor into the national spotlight and raise awareness of the needs in places like Kenya. Also, the winners of the Boston Marathon receive a sizeable purse; this year it is $806,000 distributed among the top 15 runners. Please pray for God’s glory in this race. Only He knows what outcome would best further His kingdom!

March- Prayer Requests
Dear Prayer Partners,
Thank God for protecting Danielle Gardner during her surgery last month! She is on an 8 week recovery schedule and will continue to need our prayers. She would like to be well enough to go to Kenya in June!
Praise God for Kim Thrasher who is volunteering as an administrative assistant at the Vapor Office part time.
Praise God for the new baby that VP Dustin Rosner and his wife Joli are expecting in April. Pray for a safe delivery.
Praise God for the new Center in Togoville West Africa scheduled to break ground March 9th!
- Please pray for God to send His angels before Selinah and Christian’s family to drive out their spiritual enemies. The area is saturated with voodoo but greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world!
- Pray for unity and wisdom as they partner with Togo Palms Ministries.
- Ask the Lord to give them favor with the people in the area.
- May God raise up the men and women He has called who will be discipled so they might, in turn, disciple the children of Togo.
- Thank God in advance for His abundant provision for this new Center. He is more than enough!
Pray for the McElveens!
- Pray for Audrey that God would guide her as she juggles the responsibilities of the ministry and finishing her degree.
- Pray for wisdom, discernment, health and safe travel March 16-22 as they fly to the Dominican Republic and possibly Haiti to look at partnering with existing ministries there to establish additional Vapor Centers.
Pray for Ed Arterbury and his wife Patti that God would inspire them as they seek Him for creative ways to finance the 40 centers Vapor has envisioned.
Praise God for the Ngong, Kenya Vapor Center running ministry planned to open in June with a possible soccer ministry to open in September! Brett and Trishia Ralston are in Alabama now going through training and preparing to lead these outreaches. Pray for God to go before them and pave the way.
Continue to pray for God to be glorified in all the Vapor outreaches including Hasmin’s friends and Kids 4 Kids.
Continue to pray all who join Vapor will find their spot and that the ministry will reflect the beautiful flow of the Holy Spirit as each one does their part!

February-March 2009
What an incredible praise we have to give God for this report from Christian and his family!! The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective!! Please consider printing this page for your prayer time.
What satan meant for evil, God has turned for glorious good. The experience deepened Celine and Christian’s faith in ways that are hard to put into words. They are ready to take Jesus into Togo.
Celine is much healthier now as is the new baby. She and Christian have chosen to use injections to keep the endometriosis under control until she is fully ready for the surgery necessary to correct it.
As though that were not enough, the transition of leadership at the Nairobi Vapor Center is going smoothly and they are expecting a record 900 kids this year (up 300 from just one year ago!)
February 12 – 19th Micah and Christian will be going into Togo to prepare a home for Christian’s family. They will also be looking at hospitals to select one that can care for Celine’s needs. Projected time of the family going is sometime in March.
Please pray for the Lord to go before Christian and his family. (Exodus 23: 20, 27, 28; Ephesians 6).
Pray they will be deeply aware of God’s presence going with them and that His presence will be so apparent to those to whom they are bringing good news, that Togoville will embrace the gospel readily (Exodus 33:16).
Pray for God to give Micah and Christian safe passage as they journey to Togo and that they have great discernment and wisdom in all the decisions they make there.
Pray for God to expedite Christian’s Work Visa in a timely manner. This is critical as part of the difficulty previously experienced by Christian going into Togo was due to his Visa status as a refugee from Rwanda’s genocide. The upgrade to a work Visa would eliminate this difficulty.

FAST-Day 5
Day 5 Provision for the laborers and the work
Read Ezra 2:68-69; 6:22, 6-10; Haggai 1:2-11; 2:15-19
“Then the family heads… and the priests and Levites – everyone whose heart God has moved – prepared to go up and build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to the freewill offerings.” Ezra 1:5, 6
Just as in Ezra’s time, God moved on some to go and do the work and some to finance the work, and we can see Him doing the same today. Some made donations to the work once they were on site and saw the need. That also has been the response of many who have participated in Vapor trips; it opened their eyes and hearts more to the desperate need.
The temple we are building is not made with bricks and stones like in the Old Testament. I Peter 2:5 says “you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” When we invest in the laborers who are working in God’s harvest fields; building His temple, we also share in their reward (Matthew 10:42, Matthew 10: 10; Luke 10:7). Even if we cannot go, we can still share in our Savior’s joy in this way.
Even in a financial famine like America is experiencing right now, God can still cause us to reap a hundredfold if we are obedient to go where He leads. God did it for Isaac and He has not changed (Genesis 26). Since He already knows our needs, let us ask Him to move on the hearts of the people through whom He wants to provide for His work.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your incredible provision for Vapor and those working with them over this past year. Truly you have opened the windows of heaven and blessed them beyond what they could have asked or even thought just one year ago. Thank you for moving on laborers to join in the work and moving on others to provide for the work. Let those who have committed to this, be faithful according to their abilities to give whether it be time, prayer, work or finances. May it be credited to their treasure in heaven. May they truly be fragrant offerings and acceptable sacrifices that bring You great pleasure (Phil.4:17, 18). And above all else, may You be glorified in Jesus’ name, amen.

FAST - Day-4
Day 4 Laborers for the harvest
Read Matthew 9:37; Luke 10:1-21; John 4:34-38
“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” Matthew 9:38
Isaiah described Jesus as a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief but Luke 10:21 is one of the times Jesus was filled by the Holy Spirit with great joy! It was a result of seeing His kingdom established in the hearts of people. He was so excited about them experiencing what He planned for them from the beginning: forgiveness, health, freedom from demonic oppression and life abundant. It so affected Him that He wanted everyone to have that kind of liberty. There was just one problem: not enough workers for the harvest. So He told His disciples to ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers.
As Vapor grows and plants centers around the world, they will need workers. When Christian goes to Togoville, Togo, he will have to train and disciple a team who will then train and disciple coaches to reach the children in that area. Brett and Trisha Ralston will have to go through the same process in Ngong, Kenya. Let us pray together that God will hand pick and send the men and women He has chosen to share in this work.
Prayer: Father thank you that the harvest is ripe. Thank you for the joy that comes in laboring in that harvest with You. Please send the people you have chosen to work with Vapor. Please remove the obstacles to them coming and grant them the diligence to complete the work you created them to do. Give Christian, the Ralston’s and the leadership of the American Vapor team the wisdom and discernment they need as they recruit people into Your work. We ask that You please pour out your Holy Spirit and may the result be a joy to Your heart. Favor them with the governments and people in the areas they go. In Jesus’ name, amen.
