April Prayer Guide

Vapor April 2009 Praise and Prayer Report

“…as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.”
II Corinthians 1:11

Praise God for His faithfulness in Christian’s family arriving safely in Togoville, Togo. They are hard at work putting things in place for the new Togo Vapor Center there. Please continue to pray for them regularly. They need to come up with a land resolution to begin construction on the next Vapor Center there.

Praise God for the individuals and organizations that continue to partner with Vapor in spite of the economic news. They have remained faithful to lay up treasures in heaven.

Please pray for the McElveens.
- Saturday, April 4th through Tuesday, April 14th they and 2 of Vapor’s directors will be traveling to 4 countries: Ghana, Togo, Ethiopia and Kenya. Please pray for their health, safety, unity and the leading of the Holy Spirit as they visit Ghana and Ethiopia to meet with potential partners and view sites for possible new Vapor Centers.

On Easter, they will be preaching on the beach of the Jamestown Slum in Ghana. Pray for the hearts to open to our Savior. I am sending a picture of the beach in a separate email. It is not what you would think of as a beach.

Pray God would pour out encouragement through them as they visit Christian and his family in Togoville. Ask the Father to download His vision to them as they plan for the future of the Togo Vapor Center.

Pray God’s plan would unfold as they finalize the partnership with the church leadership in Ngong, Kenya. They will need clarity and the mind of Christ on whether to partner with PCEA church or AIC church. Both churches are strategically placed on the edge of the slum targeted. The McElveens and directors will also briefly meet with the staff at the Kawangware, Kenya Vapor Center.

They will need God’s supernatural strength to do all this in 10 days!

- April 17th – 19th The McElveens will be guest speakers and volunteering at Outback: a family restoration camp.

- Continue to pray for God’s grace on Audrey as she juggles a biology class and the needs of the ministry.

Please pray for Danielle Gardner and family: She has had a slow, painful road to recovery and is still on that journey.

Please pray for the upcoming Ngong Vapor Center

Pray for Brett and Trishia to receive the financial support and prayer network needed to sustain them in this endeavor. Pray for God to make apparent those He has called alongside to help as they move forward.

Pray for Vapor Sponsored Edward Kimosop from Kenya as he runs the Boston Marathon April 20th. That might sound like an odd thing to pray about until you hear why!

Edward will be working alongside the Ralston’s in building the Vapor Running Center in Ngong. It is a city where some of the finest runners in the world are trained. The winner of the 2007 Boston Marathon was a Kenyan! If Edward is one of the finalists, it could thrust Edward and Vapor into the national spotlight and raise awareness of the needs in places like Kenya. Also, the winners of the Boston Marathon receive a sizeable purse; this year it is $806,000 distributed among the top 15 runners. Please pray for God’s glory in this race. Only He knows what outcome would best further His kingdom!
